For years, the Mia school chair has been one of the most common pieces of furniture in the classrooms fitted out by Mirplay School, thanks to its versatility and its ability to adapt to different educational spaces.
Now comes its natural successor: the Lia school chair, which embodies that same functional spirit and takes it a step further, with a redesigned shell, a wider range of colour finishes and a product range that covers everything from nursery classrooms to secondary school and adult education settings.
A shell design tailored to everyday classroom use
The most noticeable difference between the two models is the frame. The Lia school chair features a hole at the back of the backrest which serves a dual purpose: it allows pupils to hang their rucksacks, helping to keep the classroom tidy, and makes it easier to grip the chair when moving or stacking it. It may seem like a small detail, but it addresses a very specific need of teachers and pupils, who handle these chairs several times a day.
Furthermore, the frame is made from recycled polypropylene, which aligns Lia with Mirplay School’s commitment to more sustainable educational spaces without compromising on the strength and durability required for intensive school use.

Six finishes to personalise every space
The Lia collection also offers a wider colour palette than the Mia school chair. The range is available in six finishes: light terracotta, ocean blue, olive green, light yellow, graphite black and stone grey. This variety makes it possible to adapt the furniture to the visual identity of each school, to distinguish between different stages of education by colour, or simply to bring more light into spaces such as libraries, laboratories or multi-purpose halls.
One shell, multiple configurations depending on the activity
One of the strengths of the range is that the same cabinet can be adapted to different bases and uses, making it easier to equip an entire school with a consistent look. From primary school classrooms to laboratories or libraries, each configuration is designed to suit a different way of using the educational space.

Ergonomics for everyday life in the classroom
All models in the range feature a curved backrest, designed to offer optimum comfort during long school days. This focus on ergonomics is key in a chair that will accompany pupils and teachers for much of the day, and confirms that, whilst aesthetics and performance evolve, comfort remains a priority in the design.
The transition from Mia to Lia marks the evolution of one of Mirplay School’s bestsellers, conceived with real classroom use in mind, offering more configuration options, more sustainable materials and a design that makes everyday life easier.
